News Brief: SAS Computing at work on Webmail glitches

Students using the School of Arts and Sciences Webmail system experienced intermittent lapses in service while trying to access their e-mail accounts throughout the past week.

"I've been having real problems getting in and staying in," College junior Edith Mulhern said. "It keeps on telling me my session has expired, even though it hasn't."

University officials are currently at work addressing the problem. "We haven't isolated a cause," said John Yates, information technology senior director for SAS Computing. He added that Computing staff members were attempting a change in the Webmail software.
